Laundry Room = (nearly) Fin, or Ode to Appliance Joy, Installment Two

E has done it and finished the laundry room. And our first ever washer and dryer of our own have arrived.

Glee!

A reminder of before:

And now after, without lights on:

The cabinets and flooring are all the a remain from the old room. We were toying with painting the cabinets too, but thought white might be a lot of....white, so though we don't like them, we're leaving them alone for now because, well, it's a laundry room. We did change the knobs though, which may be a bit hard to detect here, but are brushed nickel like the switch plate.

And now for the pièce de résistance:

 That's Oxide Silver, thank you:

Aren't they purrty? Joy and rapture. Plain and simple. I'm pretty sure we're on load five now.

You must understand we've been dealing with variations on laundromats for about 12 years in my case and probably 15-20 years in E's case (with the occasional trip to our parents' homes). We don't know what to do with ourselves.

(Oh, and yes, we'll be changing that outlet to white and brushed nickel too. Details, always, details,)

  1. I believe E ran home from soccer to do his laundry. He seemed fairly excited by the prospect.

  2. Love your blog entries, especially the before and after pictures. Very well written. Congrats to both of you. One room down.

  3. Check that laundry room off the to-do list. The lighting and silver finishes look great together!

  4. I have a few loads to do....are you accepting drop-off? Or is this strictly a do your own affair?

  5. If you don't mind a five-hour drive, come on down!
